Ekspla has unveiled the femtosecond laser FemtoLux 50, the latest addition to its award-winning ultrafast FemtoLux laser family of industrial-grade femtosecond lasers. Building upon the success of its predecessor, the FemtoLux 30, this new system pushes the boundaries of power, versatility, and precision.
“FemtoLux 50 was engineered in response to our users’ needs,” says Lukas Rimgaila, Head of the OEM Program. “It delivers 67% more output power while maintaining the same compact footprint as the 30W version. This also means space savings for the cooling system – ours is already integrated into the laser, featuring a unique military-grade waterless cooling plate.”
Power and precision for high versatility applications
The ultrafast laser FemtoLux 50 is engineered to deliver an output power of 50 W at 1030 nm, facilitating exceptional performance for demanding micromachining processes. Combined with controllable pulse durations from sub-400 fs to 1 ps and repetition rates ranging from single-shot to 2 MHz, it seamlessly adapts to a wide range of industrial applications.
For enhanced versatility, users can fully leverage the industrial laser FemtoLux 50 through advanced burst mode options, including MHz, GHz, and combined MHz+GHz configurations, along with true Pulse-on-Demand (PoD) capability. These features ensure precise control over pulse timing and energy delivery, optimizing laser process parameters for efficient, high-quality machining at the workpiece.
Reliability redefined – FemtoLux with direct refrigerant cooling technology
The FemtoLux 50 stands out in its power class with an innovative dry cooling system (DRC). By replacing the resource-intensive water chilling, this advancement solves the common reliability issues, while also simplifying installation and reducing maintenance. DRC delivers outstanding performance, including power stability below 0.5% RMS over 100 hours and superior beam quality with M² < 1.2.
Complementary wavelengths for added flexibility
The femtosecond laser FemtoLux 50 is designed to excel in a wide range of manufacturing processes and materials. Depending on the task, it can be equipped with an optional harmonics module, enabling operation at 515 nm (20 W, >50 µJ) and 343 nm (10 W, >25 µJ). These additional wavelengths expand the user’s seamless control of precision, production time and applications.
User-friendly software & global support network
Although an advanced machinery, the industrial laser FemtoLux 50 runs on user-friendly software, backed by a team of dedicated service support as well as representatives from over 20 countries worldwide (USA, Germany, Japan, China, South Korea, and others) ensuring quick response times. With built-in sensors, it offers time-saving features and remote session capabilities to improve efficiency and convenience for users.
Micromachining applications
The ultrafast laser FemtoLux 50 offers solutions for glass, metal, polymer, and other materials. Numerous feasibility studies in renowned application laboratories show the laser’s applicability for various micromachining processes, from stent cutting to semiconductor manufacturing and beyond, offering limitless potential.
